The Highland Football Academy Trust was established in 2002 and is a partnership between Highland Council, Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, and Ross County FC. Since 2006, the indoor and outdoor facilities have serviced the entire community, from local school children to professional footballers. The indoor arena in particular has benefited those that have used it tremendously well, offering a fantastic facility when Highland weather is at its worst.
Nearly ten years after the facility opened, it was decided that the original 3G surface was to be replaced. Ecosse Sports put forward a credible proposal for its upgrade which was accepted by the trustees of the academy. The proposal included the removal of the existing 3G carpet which was re-used around the outer perimeter of natural grass pitch at Ross County FC’s home ground Victoria Park. The existing dynamic base was regulated and compacted to ensure conformity prior to the installation of a new prefabricated shockpad and TigerTurf 3G 50mm football specific carpet.
